Got a great idea from Mara this morning, actually a few good ones, but here's this one. Instead of doing the 100 day burpee challenge (Justin I applaud your efforts) I'm going to do the same thing with push ups. Mara mentioned it this morning and it sounded like a good idea, especially since I don't care for the push up too much.

So, starting tomorrow, Friday, I'll do one push up, on Saturday it'll be two, Sunday three, etc, until I reach 100.

I imagine I'll be hating life about mid October. Anyone joining me?

I'm in. This is something I don't mind doing. Forget the burpee slurpees. I stroke out when I do too many of those, as you well know, Pam.

Sweet Rancheetah, start today and do 1.

Not make this a daunting task because I think it will actually be fun, but by November 30th we will have completed 5050 push ups. Wooowhooo!

Removed?! Thats harsh Sammy.

Bet: 150 95lbs thrusters, Skins finish ahead of the Eagles.

Ooohhhh! A little workout bet...

Brooks-- Ha! Done. I never met you but let's shake on that one when I see you. I love it! Go Birds.!

That is a lot of push-ups Pam! Your chest will be puffier than Dolly Partons come November!

When you get to the high numbers, do they have to be performed in one continuos session (ie as back to back as you can get, or can you break it up say 45 in the beginning of a workout and 45 at the end).

I'll have to make an AM class, just to seal your fate.

Good luck, Susan, on your 31-miler this Sunday!! Maybe you can find a branch to do some pull-ups on when you get tired of waiting for everyone else behind you to catch up.

And keep in mind, it's never too late to start training for next year's 100K!

ill be in on the push ups for days... so do they have to be all consecutive ?

Wow, the one thing that might encourage Brooks to an AM workout.

Susan, you're insane, but good luck!

Mini Coop, how's FL?

LD, Start those push ups! I think as long as you do the required amount throughout the day you're good. I'm going to try to keep my reps together though.

And Sam, I doubt it but I'll take measurements and let you know.

Thanks Susannah & Pamela. This race should be . . . . interesting? I don't like to think about it. Way intimidating. I just hope I'm able to come back to Crossfit by midweek.

Hey, I just thought of something. I'll probably have a new nasty foot photo to show off after this race. That's pretty exciting. Any bets on how many toenails are going to pop off?

Awful

Pamela MacElree said...

I'd rather see some photos of the race course than missing toenails.

Susan! Sick! Falling off toenails are one of my biggest fears, second only to driving behind logging trucks. Please keep all of your toenails or I may have to reconsider our friendship.

I'd like to do this push up thing, Pam.

And there's one for me...

If I'm counting correctly by the end of November we will have collectively done 40,400 push ups. Any other takers to the push group?

So far it looks like it's...

Rancheetah
Damien
Lisa
Erica
Greg
Rich
My Dad
Me

Mara, are you up for it since you inspired it.
